My son’s tablet proudly bears the moniker “Megan.” For too long, he’s been complimenting my hair. Today he made it clear where he was coming from when he asked if I can loc his hair and let it grow.

The pink prams. The girlie name. The hair. The constant praising my clothes. His request to wear his sister’s shoes.

The autistic population makes up a significant proportion of the gender fluid, transgender and non binary population.

He’s coming across as one of them.

I wonder where this will lead to.
